3D Printers to breed like...

New Town High school students plan to build 3D printers for primary schools using parts printed on their own 3D printer.

This bunny didn't come down in the last snow shower - it was a 'test page' printed from a spool of white plastic.

But before that could happen the students built their own printer from a $700 kit. You can watch part of that process in the fast motion video below.

Year 10 student Gareth Davy who is leading the project said, "The electrical engineering aspect and being able to print physical objects out of files on my computer blew my mind."

Teacher Ben Wilson who manages Digital Education at New Town High will update us soon with video of objects being printed and the progress of printer assembly for primary schools.
